Effective April 2004, KALCA newly expanded its program priorities into voter education and mobilization throughout the Greater New York area. KALCA has formed an alliance with other Korean and Asian American organizations including, Young Korean American Services & Education Center (YKASEC), Korean American Voters Council (KAVC), and Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund (AALDEF), to increase Korean American and Asian American voter participation, including organizing non-partisan get-out-the-vote operations in districts with large numbers of Korean American and Asian American voters throughout Greater New York. KALCA plans to collaborate with these partners on voter education and mobilization activities and to conduct voter education forums to cover election issues and voting rights. Through their collective efforts, KALCA and its partner organizations seek to significantly increase Korean American and Asian American voter turnout rates in city, state, and national elections.
As a partner in the New York Immigration Coalition's historic, statewide "Immigrant Voters Making A Difference" campaign, KALCA also works with dozens of community organizations including Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE) and the Latin American Integration Center (LAIC) to sustain voter education and outreach to non-English fluent voters.
